Even though you may be reading this on April 1st, I assure you that this is no April Fool's Day joke. Upon reviewing this article on ESPN.com, it looks like the attorney general of Utah is proceeding with its antitrust lawsuit against the BCS. (Cue the music!) Or, put it another way, for those of you who know one of my all-time favorite movies...
I can hold out hope that a 16-team playoff that would reward all conference champions, plus five at-large berths determined by strength of schedule (as it should be done, not by coaches or media votes) could possibly be considered if the lawsuit were to succeed and a playoff system implemented. All I know is this is a story to keep one's eyes and ears open for as the college football season gets closer and closer (thankfully) to resuming.
